As evident by the wonderfully rustic wooden beams and sloped ceilings – something for taller guests to watch out for – this cottage used to be a barn conversion. Now serving a different purpose, it’s a cosy family pad in the Norfolk countryside but also doubles as a base for anyone wanting to explore the Norfolk Coast. With several beaches within driving distance, you can make the most of the sunshine with day trips and seaside ice-cream vendors. The style here might not be for everyone, but it is comfortable and bright, with a terrace table perfect for alfresco meals.

We suggest hiring a car for ease – there’s parking space for up to three cars.. As there are stairs to climb here, it might not be the best option for those with reduced mobility.. If you’re travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You’ll need to request them in advance.. The ceiling in some areas is on the low side. It might not be suitable for taller guests.. We think some areas of this home could do with a refresh. In particular, the bathroom looks a little dated.. You might find that the phone signal is patchy from time to time.. You won’t find a welcome hamper here, so we’d recommend packing some bits and bobs to get you started. The nearest supermarket is a short drive away.
